Insulated Siding.
We have gotten some calls this month about our insulated vinyl siding. For those of you who have never heard of it, it is foam insulation bonded to the vinyl siding planks. The benefit of insulated siding is that it protects your home more efficiently than traditional vinyl siding alone. Did you know that you have an energy leak all year long if you have traditional vinyl siding? About 25% of your home’s outside surface is made up of studs with insulation in-between the studs. Unfortunately the studs are not insulated and this is where the energy leak occurs. Insulated siding protects your home like a blanket and makes it more energy efficient. It also makes your home quieter – great if you live on a busy street. Insulated siding is colorfast and it is stronger than

When is the right time to buy replacement windows?
A lot of people are asking – when is the right time to buy replacement windows? The best answer would be when you are ready to save money. In addition to making your home energy efficient, it will also improve the look of your home and help with your resale value. Old windows start to deteriorate both inside and out, seals start leaking and you get the fog effect inside your home.

Well, we’ve gotten a taste of fall and have started getting calls about gutters and gutter guards. Our gutter system components are designed, manufactured and custom installed to effectively channel the water running off your roof. We have 2 types of gutter guards available. Our economical style is a drop-in screen guard and our high end guard is aluminum that is fastened onto your gutter every 16 inches. It is guaranteed to keeps debris out of gutters, allowing water to flow freely. Leaves are then lifted off of gutters by a gentle breeze.

Window Safety Tips
Window Safety Tips
Practice safety drills often. Small children tend to “hide” from fire. Make sure children are familiar with safety routes and know how to get quickly out of the home. Designate a place where the family can meet if separated. The home’s mailbox is always a good location.
Safety chain ladders should be located under beds of bedrooms on second floors. Practice operating the ladder with older children.
Keep furniture (including cribs) or anything children can climb away from windows.
Remember window screens are to keep insects out. They can not support the weight of a child or family pet.
Before ordering windows, be sure to examine the window’s locking systems. Multi-point locks provide more protection against intruders and make it more difficult for curious young children to operate.
If you don’t use window guards, install and use window stops so that windows open no more than 4 inches. Whether opening windows from the bottom, top, or side, openings should never exceed 4 inches with children present.
If you have blinds or roman shades as your window coverings, make sure that the cords are out of reach of children. Children can get caught in dangling cords and strangle. If buying new, cordless window coverings is not an option for you, contact the Window Covering Safety Council at www.windowcoverings.org to obtain a free repair kit and install it properly to make your window coverings safer. Some, but not all, of the repair kits will make your window coverings cordless. After you install a repair kit, check your window coverings again for accessible cords.

Prices and specials
In recent weeks we have seen another spike in prices of vinyl and aluminum. We are now paying as much as 15-20% more for our supplies than last year. Vinyl siding, soffit, windows, shakes ans scallops are all affected. Steel products hace increased 18%. In response, we have seen the industry raise prices dramatically. As our profit rate is much lower than other companies, we will be raising rates as well. If you need to order vinyl windows, siding etc please try to do so before the increase August 6th 2011.
We still have our low price promise and will continue to be a leader in customer satisfaction and low prices. Please call us at 614-375-4444 or email sales@thermaprowindows.com for help or if you have any questions.

Screen Doors and Screens for windows
In recent weeks we have had so many requests to install screen doors and new sreens for windows. Here are a few things to think about when getting these items.
1.) Are the problems I ahve currently due to pets or small children? If so perhaps an upgraded screen is the answer.
2.) Is the frame a problem? We can upgrade the frames as well. We have upgrades avaialble including fiberglass.
3.) Is the wind the primary problem? If so, perhaps a bush or abstruction may help.
Keep these items in mind. For more ideas or tips, feel free to call us at 614-375-4444 or 614-271-3330

Q and A
Recently I ran across a checklist you can use when buying windows. So I wanted to share some questions and answers that can go along with that checklist.
Is window install included in the price? Yes, install including wrapping around wood or siding is included as needed.
Does the company use their own installers? We take it one step higher. Our installers come directly for a national manufacturer with over 70 years experience with vinyl and wood windows. The installers are paid and trained by the manufacturer to insure the highest quality installation possible, and they stand behind it. 1 yr warranty for the install and lifetime (50 years) for the windows.
Is the interior trim removed? Only if you request it. 99% of the time the home owner wants to keep the trim on the inside of the home.
Is disposal of the old windows included in the price? Yes, not only is it included, we recycle everything we can.
Can the company give you a copy of certificate of insurance? Of course, we are licensed, bonded, insured. Also we have the national lead training as required by law.
Is “night stop” included? Yes, this feature allows the home owner to open the window for ventilation without some comfort the someone will not open the window and come in the home.
Single, double, or triple pane? Double pane windows is what we specialize in. Triple pane is too heavy and does not add enough insulation to warrant the high price. Double pane with argon is four times for efficient than single pane.
Is low-e included? Yes. Low-e keeps the heat out in the summer while allowing it in in the winter. Also, keeps out furniture fading UV rays.
How long will it take to get my windows installed? Generally 2-4 weeks depending on the time of year. Generally about 2 weeks from the date the estimate is signed.

Getting Aggressive
Next month there will be an industry wide increase in materials of about 7%. This is bad for us and for you. We never want to push price increases on the consumer but with our low margins already, we have to.
My point is not to scare you into buying but to motivate you to improve your home while the price is still low. As you have seen on the news, the price of everything is going up. Let’s get you those new windows, or insulated siding, or gutters or doors now. You will be happy you did it before prices went up. As you can see from my last post, we also have a big sale on windows right now. This price will NEVER be this low again.
Hope to hear from you and do business with you real soon.

Spring is almost here
We have seen a huge pickup in phone calls this week, most coming from referrals of past customers. We are very thankful for all your referrals and we feel it shows that we are on the right track in customer service and price.
Big sellers right now are gutters, doors and windows. As we get further into the year I want to reming you that tax credits are not all gone for the above mentioned as well as vinyl replacement windows. Although it is not $1500, you can get up to a $200 credit this year. (anything helps in this economy).
I want to take this opportunity to thank past customers from the whole Columbus area and beyond. Thank you for all your referrals and we promise not to change our caring for our customers and our dedication for your satisfaction.

Spring is coming - Lets get the house in shape.
Many times I am asked, "when is the best time of the year to install windows, siding, patio doors, etc". My answer is that the best time is when you are ready to save. Many people associate savings in utility bills with winter time. What about air conditioning? It is always a great time to make your house safer, more efficient, and more green.
In fact, this month we are intorducing a new product, attic insulation. I am always trying to look at the full picture. If we make your doors, windows, and siding efficient, then where are we losing energy? Your attic. Now we can insulate your attic with a green product and we can do it for a low price. You will jump out of your seat when you see the price and when you feel the savings.
We can now truely say that we can do your whole house. We are proud of our new product. Please let us show you how it can benefit you.
